the heat is on

Heat index over the weekend was 103-109 in central Oklahoma.  There is a heat alert until 7pm.  Too hot for me to go outside.  I am pretty much an indoor girl in the summer heat.  Hope your weekend was wonderful!

Water water everywhere

Photos taken last Monday by my friend in his flooded neighborhood.  His yard is the green grass, which barely missed getting flooded.  Yikes!

This weather was a record setter!  And some people still did not have the repairs completed from the previous hail storm.  Such a mess, lots of clean up and many lives disrupted.  Say a big prayer for all those who were affected.  My friend says his neighborhood looks like a war zone.  Carpet and furniture all over the lawns…

Can’t have the forest without the trees

Or was I really close to the woods?  Well, anyway…  A girl can’t have too much fun on a Thursday morning!  Here is some flora for your viewing pleasure, in case you are a country girl at heart!

No telling what I will find through the camera lens next.  My boyfriend took photos of the recent flooding in Oklahoma City.  I’ll show you!  You’ll be amazed at how high and how fast the water rose up.   See you on down the road!

Le goat

(A French goat?)  Is there anything cute about a goat?  I think so.  The cute brown fellow at the bottom eyed me through the fence as if to say “What?”.  That really made me laugh out loud as I snapped his adorable face!  If you ever want to see some really fantastic photos of goats and other farm animals, go to Apifera Farm.  Katherine Dunn writes the most wonderful posts about her farm life, and she’s a great artist to boot!

soothing color

Wow, the weather is really coming on summer fast.  The temps will be in the mid 90’s with heat index about 100+!  Yikes!  A cool weather girl can only take so much!  I really like my inside climate controlled space.  I am such a wimp when it gets over 80 degrees.

Etsy, of course, has some soothing colors this Monday morning.  First of all though is a wonderful piece that depicts me, in a way.  She has her head above water?  Or she is cooling off in the pool?  Both agree with me today!
